What does a truck body warranty typically cover?

A commercial truck body warranty generally covers defects in materials or workmanship that occur during normal operation and within the stated warranty period. The specific coverage varies by manufacturer and product, but warranties are intended to address manufacturing-related issues rather than damage resulting from misuse, accidents, improper maintenance, or unauthorized modifications.

Truck body warranties commonly apply to structural components and body construction, while equipment supplied by other manufacturers—such as refrigeration units, liftgates, lighting systems, or chassis components—may be covered separately by those manufacturers.

Warranty coverage should not be confused with routine maintenance. Wear items, damage caused by overloading, collision damage, corrosion resulting from neglected maintenance, or improper repairs are generally handled outside normal warranty coverage.

Before requesting warranty service, owners should review the applicable warranty documentation to understand the coverage, exclusions, and procedures that apply to their specific truck body.
